LOVERMAN - that's who I am

There's a devil waiting outside your door
(How much longer?)
There's a devil waiting outside your door
(How much longer?)
It is bucking and braying and pawing at the floor
(How much longer?)
And he's howling with pain and crawling up the walls
(How much longer?)
There's a devil waiting outside your door
(How much longer?)
He's weak with evil and broken by the world
(How much longer?)
He's shouting your name and he's asking for more
(How much longer?)
(give him more, give him more)
There's a devil waiting outside your door
(How much longer?)

Loverman! Since the world began
Forever, Amen, Till end of time
Take off that dress
I'm coming down
I'm your loverman
Cause I am what I am what I am what I am

L is for LOVE, baby
O is for ONLY you that I do
V is for loving VIRTUALLY all that you are
E is for loving almost EVERYTHING that you do
R is for RAPE me
M is for MURDER me
A is for ANSWERING all of my prayers
N is for KNOWING your loverman's going to
be the answer to all of yours

Loverman! Till the bitter end
While empires burn down
Forever and ever and ever and ever
Loverman! So help me, baby, So help me
Cause I am what I am what I am what I am
I'll be your loverman...

There's a devil crawling along your floor
(how much longer?)
There's a devil crawling along your floor
(how much longer?)
With a trembling heart, he's coming through your door
(how much longer?)
With his straining sex in his jumping paw
(how much longer?)
There's a devil crawling along your floor
(how much longer?)
And he's old and he's stupid and
he's hungry and he's sore
And he's lame and he's blind
and he's dirty and he's poor
Give him more, give him more, give him more...
Give him more, give him more, give him more...
There's a devil crawling along your floor
(how much longer?)

Loverman! Here I stand
Forever, Amen
Cause I am what I am what I am what I am
Forgive me, baby
My hands are bound
And I got no choice
No, I got no choice at all

I'll say it again
L is for LOVE, baby
O is for O yes I do
V is for VIRTUE, so I ain't gonna hurt you
E is for EVEN if you want me to
R is for RENDER unto me, baby
M is for that which is MINE
A is for ANY old how, darling
N is for ANY old time

I'm your loverman!
I got a masterplan to take off your dress
And be your man
Seize the throne, Seize the mantle, Seize the crown
Cause I am what I am what I am what I am
I'm your loverman!

There's a devil lying by your side
(how much longer?)
You might think he's asleep
but look at his eyes
(how much longer?)
He wants you, baby, to be his bride
(how much longer?)
There's a devil lying by your side
(how much longer?)

Loverman! Loverman!

Life Over Death

Day of the Dead...often celebrated on November 1st and 2nd throughout Mexico and Latin America. A day that is normally focused on remembering our loved ones who have passed away. People build elaborate altars, pray, celebrate, visit graves, throw parties etc etc.

As for me, this year, Day of the Dead has more of a symbolic meaning. It is not a remembering of my dead loved ones, which I remember regardless, but it is a celebration that represents a death to many things in my life. It is the death of old habits, the death of any anger issues, any trust issues, of my complacencies, sour friendships, some relationships, living conditions, lifestyle etc - you get the point.

Over the course of this weekend, I received many news that has totally placed things in perspective and has taught me to view this season as a season for turning new leaves. It is also the beginning of a new month that is also near the end of this year and close to a beginning of a year that places me at a 40 year mark. All these things I gather, analyze and meditate on.

I received news about a new place to live. I was notified of getting a position I had applied for and had long awaited for. There was an end to an old tarnished friendship that unfortunately went bad for nearly 5 years. The reunion of some old friends and re-connection of "friends" from long ago. The making of new friends. Receiving an invitation to participate in a project that I would be more than honored to be a part of. The confirmation of hearing news to seal the death of an existing relationship. The constant reflection and assessing of my current life and re-realizing I need to once again journey out on the spiritual journey I once set out on years ago.

I am excited about this coming year. Day Of The Dead was definitely a day that many things died and have made room for many things to re-blossom or grow.

Hope your Day Of The Dead weekend was a good one.
