FUN Gallery

If ya'll know you know! Patti Astor, who co-founded The FUN Gallery in the early 80s will be re-opening FUN Gallery in Los Angeles. Oh yeaaaah!

The FUN Gallery was located in the East Village in New York. It was amongst one of the first galleries in that area and it was responsible for some of the first graffiti art exhibitions.
Artists such as: Fab 5 Freddy, LEE, Zephyr, Dondi, Lady Pink, and Futura 2000. Just to name a few. And also great art icons such as Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat showcased there.

People Magazine once called The FUN Gallery “The most famous art gallery in the world”

Patti was heavily involved in the underground movement. It is also said she is responsible for popularizing Hip-Hop. If you have seen Wild Style she is the blonde reporter who plays Virgina in the movie. And if you have seen Style Wars it is the gallery featured in the movie.

I can go on about her. Watch this trailer. It is for a documentary she is currently working on.
